This page offers a guide on where to locate and how to complete The Devout Troll, which is a Mystery located in Grantebridgescire, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Location: The Devout Troll Mystery.

The Calm Monk

The Monk and his homestead can be found north of Wycham. He will boast of how calm he is because of his faith. He will then push you to destroy his belongings so he can prove to you how he will never ever get angry because he has Christianity. Next, you’ll need to perform a series of tasks:

  • First, he will push you to burn down his house. You can do so either by shooting a burning arrow or throwing a torch at the thatched roof.

  • Next, he will tell you to kill his livestock. Nearby, you should be able to locate a milk cow. Unfortunately for the cow, you’ll need to slaughter it to complete this Mystery.

  • He will then ask you to destroy the wooden crates around his yard. There are a fair few, but you can destroy them easily using your melee weapons or by shooting them if you’d prefer.

After destroying all of his possessions, the Monk will stand, and you can grab a key that sits on his stool. Head round the back of the house, and on the left you’ll find a locked door. Use the key to open it and you’ll discover the Monk’s horrific crimes.

(1 of 3) First, set the Monk’s house on fire.

Confront the Monk

Speak to him again outside and confront him for his false faith. He will then attack you violently, swinging his arms at you. He doesn’t have any weapons, but he does pack quite a hard punch. Dodge his swings and hit him with your weapons and you’ll defeat him fairly quickly.

When he’s defeated, you’ll complete the Mystery and earn 1,200 EXP. If you loot his body, you’ll also get a Silver piece and you can ransack his house for some food if you need it.

(1 of 3) Use the key from the stool to unlock the back door.
