This quest begins immediately after Heavy Is the Head. You have just one day to burn the parchment in Venonis (defined in game as “before the next dusk”), thereby avoiding the wrath of the zealots. If you’ve been to Venonis before, you can get there quickly by using the synchronization point. Otherwise, your fastest route will be down the rivers Trent and Tame on your longship.
Did You Know? The lands surrounding the river Tame were home to the Tomsaete (dwellers by the Tame) tribe at least 300 years before the kingdom of Mercia existed. They continued to be mentioned in Anglo-Saxon charters well into the 800s, indicating that they remained an important political entity even after being absorbed by the kingdom.
(1 of 3) If you haven’t yet synchronized at Venonis, sailing south will be your quickest route.
However you get there, once you’re in Venonis you should use your raven to identify the general location of the parchment. More specifically, you will find it on a statue within the ruins, as shown above. Interact with the parchment to burn it, completing the quest.
Note: If you haven’t yet killed him, you’ll find a zealot nearby named Redwalda. His suggested power level is 90, but you can try your luck in fighting him while you’re here. You’ll want to avoid his explosive bombs, though, as these will do a lot more damage if you’re under level.
