This page details how to complete The Drink of the Picts mystery on the Isle of Skye, part of the A Fated Encounter crossover DLC.
How to Complete The Drink of the Picts
This mystery can be found at Dunvegan Village, in the west of the Isle of Skye. As you approach the small farm you’ll hear a man referred to only as “Brewer” muttering to himself, apparently distressed. When you speak with him he’ll tell you to leave him alone, and that his life’s work is in crisis. It isn’t immediately obvious what you need to do to proceed with the mystery, but if you use Odin’s Sight ( or ), you’ll be able to highlight a note in the nearby roundhouse. Outside the house you’ll also find some barley which is highlighted by Odin’s Sight, so you can pick this up now if you want.
To enter the house, shoot through the wooden barricade blocking the window at its eastern side. You can then jump through the window and read the note, which details ingredients for a recipe to make the “Drink of the Picts”. You won’t be able to speak with the brewer and complete the mystery until you gather the ingredients listed on the note, but thankfully they can all be found outside in the local area.
Where to Find the Crushed Barley
The Crushed Barley can be found outside the roundhouse where you found the note, and in the field to the southwest. To access the barley in the field you’ll need to kill two hostile boars which roam it.
Where to Find the Wheat from the Field
The wheat can be seen in the field to the southwest, and is highlighted when using Odin’s Sight. However, you won’t be able to harvest it during the day, so you’ll need to meditate to summon night time if it isn’t already dark.
Where to Find the Firefly
The fireflies can be found flying near the area where you found the wheat, a little further to the south. You can run at them and capture multiple, although you only need to capture one for this mystery.
Once you have all three ingredients, return to the brewer and speak with him. He’ll tell you about the drink he’s planning on making, and the mystery will complete. You’ll earn 40 silver for you trouble.
